From May 15-19, 25 Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officers (SAAOS) were trained on agriculture production and nutrition for the Ministry of Agriculture’s two-year Agriculture, Nutrition, and Gender Linkages (ANGeL) pilot project. SAAOs came from nine districts, including Sherpur, Khagrachhari, Barisal, Gaibandha, Jessore, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Comilla, and Lalmonirhat. The USAID-funded project Mobile Solutions Technical Assistance and Research Activity (mSTAR) and Dutch Bangla Bank Limited also facilitated a session on mobile payments.
The next ANGeL training of trainers is scheduled in Bogra from May 29-31, which will capacitate 25 ANGeL Pushti Kormis (APKs), or local community women, on nutrition. Trainings are jointly organized by the Agricultural Policy Support Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Helen Keller International (HKI).
