The Agricultural Policy Support (APSU) was jointly established by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the USAID-funded Policy Research and Strategy Support Program, implemented by the International Food Policy Research Institute, to strengthen in-house technical capacity within the Bangladesh Ministry of Agriculture. Specifically, APSU will
1. Provide timely policy recommendations in response to short term challenges;
2. Carry out in-depth analysis to be used as a basis for generating policy options that will address medium and long term challenges; and
3. Monitor policy implementation and evaluate policy impact/relevance.
APSU’s establishment captured critical notice and broad acclaim in various media outlets and blogs.
